State-of-the-art machines allow handling of parts with the following maximum dimensions:
Maximum drift from the theoretical line is guaranteed and certified within 2 um. Typical applications are metal and paper mill rolls, flexographic cylinders, calender rolls for plastics manufacture, and spreader rollers. In external cylindrical grinding, any curve or taper equation is possible even for the maximum dimensions mentioned above. Many traditional machines without numerical control are also available. These guarantee a lower cost facility for machining perfectly cylindrical mechanical parts such as pistons and hydraulic press columns, chill rolls, dryer rolls and drive rollers. Internal cylindrical and surface grinders are used mainly for precision-finishing parts of extrusion heads to drawings. A newly acquired centreless grinder is able to handle tube of 200 mm maximum diameter and 8,500 mm maximum length.
